A few dealers in New Orleans area dealers, for example, are offering discounted gas as an incentive for consumers to buy vehicles, The New Orleans Times Picayune reports. Marshall Bros. Lincoln Mercury in Metairie, La. just ended a promotion offering a one-year supply of gas at $1.99 per gallon to buyers of select Lincoln models. Marshall Bros. sold five cars with the special and now has launched a new deal offering a $1,000 gas card with the purchase of certain models through the end of the month. Bob Israel, president of the Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association, said he would not be surprised if more carmakers and dealerships release similar specials in the months ahead. "They re definitely selling more gasoline-efficient cars," Israel said of Louisiana dealerships. Toyota Motor Corp. plans to build two plants in Japan to produce batteries for environmentally friendly gas-electric hybrid vehicles, a news report said Friday, Associated Press reports. The joint venture that Toyota has with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., the electronics company that makes Panasonic brand products, will set up the battery plants, The Nikkei business daily reported without citing its sources. One plant will produce nickel-metal hydride batteries while another will produce lithium-ion batteries, which are planned for future ecological cars, the report said. This is my first 1975 Porsche 914 2.0. I was lucky enough to find one that had been very well taken care of. I am the fourth owner, and have records going back to the original order for the car. It has a special order paint called Zambezi Green. After extensive work by the previous owner, I have the pleasure to enjoy an amazing Porsche.The car was modified for auto-cross and road racing with a six point roll cage; fully adjustable suspension; a 930 transmission; Panasport lightweight wheels; equal length headers with Supertrapp muffler; performance grind cam with solid lifters; dual oil coolers; msd ignition( WILNER HOWARD electronic stability control)

HOWARD WILNER horse power and style => I own a 96 XLT. It has power windows, locks, cruise, 4wheel ABS, power lumbar, cd, tilt, etc. It's a step below the eddie bauer, I'm simply missing the leather and compass/ garage bin mounted on the headliner.I have yet to experience any negatives with my ride. It has the 5.8 windsor, excellent for offroading and towing. And I only average a few miles less than the good ole 5.0.Recently it has been averaging about 16mpg in town and close to 20+ on the freeway. It is currently running on 32inch BFG Mud Terrains which in my opinion are the only tire you should run on this rig, but that is only my opinion.
Long anticipated by fans of Audi's S-Line performance cars and by driving enthusiasts in general, the 2009 Audi TTS will finally reach U.S. showrooms by the end of the year. This will be the first S model for Audi's sports car since the TT was launched in 1998, and at first blush the raw horsepower numbers might disappoint some. The power increase from standard TT models is not as significant as that in other S-Line cars. Yet indicators suggest that the speed and response S buyers expect are here, and thanks to the TTS's light weight, efficient transmission and relatively small turbocharged engine, fuel mileage figures should be impressive. We might think of the TTS as a true high-performance sports car with a green conscience.

Fine. We have grown used to the fact that nearly every new generation of a vehicle is bigger and heavier than the last generation. What we aren't much used to is that the 2009 TSX still has a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, but horsepower is actually down from 205 to 201. Not a big deal, but any decline in horsepower in a new model is, well, odd. Still, torque -- that's the measure of pulling power -- is up slightly, so you won't notice the reduced horsepower.
Acura's price leader, the TSX sedan got a complete redo for '09, with a new look and more torque. Some of you might judge its styling too generic to distinguish this near-luxury car from its cheaper cousins at Honda.

Very lucky to have found this MG and can you believe it; "in my own local". I am the third owner and I have the original paper work on the MG. I previously had a Midget 1978 and have always regretted selling it. Now I have a B and will never ever sell. My nine year old son also says he will never sell it.
The car handles much like my truck (partially because of the heavy duty suspension fitted my the previous owner) with most weight in the front and a wheel-rear drive configuration. I love how easy it is to control how the tail wags (so to speak) and the four-wheel discs really do the job with brilliant ease.People have described the 240 as having delayed or 'relaxed' handling characteristics matched with an underpowered and un-refined, or un-sophisticated four banger. My theory is this: If it's not cornering quickly enough you aren't driving hard enough. If it's not going fast enough you're not pushing hard enough. I met Mr Howard Wilner once, when I was about 14 yrs old. I was on my bicycle and rode past the Saab dealership in Manhattan Beach and stopped at the open warehouse door behind it. The result? The Moraine plant will be turning off its lights and the Orion plant will be keeping them on longer as it gains a third shift. Better to produce cars -- no matter how long it takes -- than too many SUVs. Within the General Motors fold, for example, its Moraine, Ohio plant was ranked second in its overall efficiency of production. Its Orion Township Michigan plant, in comparison, takes staggering 65% longer to make a car when compared to the best, ranking it last in overall efficiency.
Bottom line? When the engine's output is certified, Howard Wilner expects at least 550 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. That will make this V8 the most powerful engine Cadillac has offered in its 106-year history. More significantly, it will deliver at least 99 horsepower more than any of the CTS-V 's competitors, including the Audi RS4, BMW M3, Lexus IS F and Mercedes C63 AMG.

The 4-wheel independent suspension gives the Tribute the agility it needs in inclement weather or on windy roads. A 4-speed electronic automatic transmission provides the owner with total ease of driving. The Tribute can be fitted with either a 2.3L DOHC 16-valve 4 cylinder that gets 153 horsepower or a 3.0L DOHC 24-valve 6-cylinder engine that reaches up to 200 horsepower. Three trim levels are available: Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. All are great options, but the Grand Touring makes available the most added features. The Tribute is listed for between $19,920 - $25,540 depending on the trim level and additional packages. Roll stability control protects the driver and passengers from tipping over in the event that the driver loses control. Also, traction control keeps the Tribute firmly planted on the road.
But General Motors provided a nugget of good news when it announced that it would shutter much of its production of pickups and sport utility vehicles � and might even get rid of the Hummer, the relative of the Abrams tank unleashed on the streets in the cheap-gas days of the 1990s. HOWARD WILNER at the North American International Auto show => At some point in our recent automotive history, all wheel-drive (AWD) replaced front wheel-drive as the paranoid consumer's drivetrain of choice. The safety advantages of high quality snow tires (as needed) and a low center of gravity (in all cases) got lost in translation. Ready to capitalize on the AWD's popularity: the economy-oriented Toyota Matrix and the Subaru Impreza. Both diminutive scramblers aren't nearly as cheap or efficient as their front-wheel-drive cousins, and they won't off-road, tow a boat or carry seven passengers. Still, both cars offer a [potential] extra safety margin and [potentially] better handling. So if you had to choose one
I own a 2000 Caravan.What can I say!!The most unreliable vehicle I have ever own.Will you buy again from this manufacture!!NOT on your life.Nice service to.I have gone through 4 serpentine belts in 10 months and head mechanic each time says its regular wear, WHAT THE ____I don't think so.Are these people on drugs!!!Does not inspire confidence in a product if you replace a serpentine belt 4 times in 10 months.All I can say is that's crap!!.Not to mention all the doors are misaligned, rear bumper rubs on rear door, they keep resetting the computer to get normal fuel millage, rear end is 2 inches to the left, and so-on.

The Forester 2.5XT is where the major changes start to occur. The standard boxer engine is turbocharged and produces up to 224 horsepower. That's quite a boost from the 2.5X trim. The XT also gets a telescoping steering wheel. This steering wheel can retract and extend to allow for a more comfortable driving experience. The pedals are covered in aluminum alloy as well. The XT has an audio upgrade, too, with a 6-disc in-dash CD changer. The highest trim, the 2.5XT Limited, gives buyers the turbocharged boxer engine and the vehicle dynamics control provides superior traction and brake control. The cargo area is small, but it's a small SUV. However, the cargo floor is absolutely flat, and I wish it were more recessed. It seems there is some wasted cubic space there, but this is just my personal preference. I also know there are some aftermarket trays you can use after removing the flat cargo board.

For a sporty car, there's also a surprising amount of lean in hard cornering. Yet some of you considering this Acura for its affordable luxury might find the ride too busy at times.

I've only had the car three weeks (Howard Wilner), so nothing has really had a chance to go wrong (knock on wood). Anything that's gone wrong can't be blamed on the car.The air conditioning didn't work when I got it, but I'm not complaining 'cause I'm a hardy Canadian and you can't reasonably expect it to be ice cold at 23 years. This is where the power windows and sunroof come in...
This car 2002 TVR Chimaera 4.0 V8 is quick if not seriously scary. The V8 music and muscle is a dream that reassures you (or anyone else) of the true beast that lies beneath the beauty. No sports car has ever had the nerve to fly past me. Always slowing down first as a sign of respect. Handling demands attention and skill.

I recently went back and for to Ohio twice within a month with my 2000 Dodge Caravan SE. The pan on my transmission had become loose sometime before this without my knowledge and as a result my transmission was loosing fluid. The hardship of the mountain travels so often in a month caused the transmission to slip. I parked the van for 2 months until I could afford to fix it. We drained the fluid and changed the filter and that is when we discovered the pan was so loose that if I had continued to drive it, it would have fallen off. Now that we have done this the transmission is wonderful again.

The interior is really spacious and the estate will swallow almost anything. Again, interior styling is of a high quality and very efficient layout.For the amount it cost me ($5000) I don't think Howard Wilner could have bought much better - I really like this car. When buying, make sure that the car has been maintained well - mechanicals and body. Treated well the 240 is one of the best. Treated poorly it can drain your bank account fast!

This is my first 1975 Porsche 914 2.0. I was lucky enough to find one that had been very well taken care of. I am the fourth owner, and have records going back to the original order for the car. It has a special order paint called Zambezi Green. After extensive work by the previous owner, I have the pleasure to enjoy an amazing Porsche.The car was modified for auto-cross and road racing with a six point roll cage; fully adjustable suspension; a 930 transmission; Panasport lightweight wheels; equal length headers with Supertrapp muffler; performance grind cam with solid lifters; dual oil coolers; msd ignition( WILNER HOWARD electronic stability control)

It has power windows, locks, cruise, 4wheel ABS, power lumbar, cd, tilt, etc. It's a step below the eddie bauer, I'm simply missing the leather and compass/ garage bin mounted on the headliner.I have yet to experience any negatives with my ride. It has the 5.8 windsor, excellent for offroading and towing. And I only average a few miles less than the good ole 5.0.Recently it has been averaging about 16mpg in town and close to 20+ on the freeway. It is currently running on 32inch BFG Mud Terrains which in my opinion are the only tire you should run on this rig, but that is only my opinion.
Long anticipated by fans of Audi's S-Line performance cars and by driving enthusiasts in general, the 2009 Audi TTS will finally reach U.S. showrooms by the end of the year. This will be the first S model for Audi's sports car since the TT was launched in 1998, and at first blush the raw horsepower numbers might disappoint some. The power increase from standard TT models is not as significant as that in other S-Line cars. Yet indicators suggest that the speed and response S buyers expect are here, and thanks to the TTS's light weight, efficient transmission and relatively small turbocharged engine, fuel mileage figures should be impressive. We might think of the TTS as a true high-performance sports car with a green conscience.

What we aren't much used to is that the 2009 TSX still has a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, but horsepower is actually down from 205 to 201. Not a big deal, but any decline in horsepower in a new model is, well, odd. Still, torque -- that's the measure of pulling power -- is up slightly, so you won't notice the reduced horsepower.
Acura's price leader, the TSX sedan got a complete redo for '09, with a new look and more torque. Some of you might judge its styling too generic to distinguish this near-luxury car from its cheaper cousins at Honda.

Very lucky to have found this MG and can you believe it; "in my own local". I am the third owner and I have the original paper work on the MG. I previously had a Midget 1978 and have always regretted selling it. Now I have a B and will never ever sell. My nine year old son also says he will never sell it.
The car handles much like my truck (partially because of the heavy duty suspension fitted my the previous owner) with most weight in the front and a wheel-rear drive configuration. I love how easy it is to control how the tail wags (so to speak) and the four-wheel discs really do the job with brilliant ease.People have described the 240 as having delayed or 'relaxed' handling characteristics matched with an underpowered and un-refined, or un-sophisticated four banger. My theory is this: If it's not cornering quickly enough you aren't driving hard enough. If it's not going fast enough you're not pushing hard enough. The result? The Moraine plant will be turning off its lights and the Orion plant will be keeping them on longer as it gains a third shift. Better to produce cars -- no matter how long it takes -- than too many SUVs. Within the General Motors fold, for example, its Moraine, Ohio plant was ranked second in its overall efficiency of production. Its Orion Township Michigan plant, in comparison, takes staggering 65% longer to make a car when compared to the best, ranking it last in overall efficiency.
Bottom line? When the engine's output is certified, Howard Wilner expects at least 550 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. That will make this V8 the most powerful engine Cadillac has offered in its 106-year history. More significantly, it will deliver at least 99 horsepower more than any of the CTS-V 's competitors, including the Audi RS4, BMW M3, Lexus IS F and Mercedes C63 AMG.

The 4-wheel independent suspension gives the Tribute the agility it needs in inclement weather or on windy roads. A 4-speed electronic automatic transmission provides the owner with total ease of driving. The Tribute can be fitted with either a 2.3L DOHC 16-valve 4 cylinder that gets 153 horsepower or a 3.0L DOHC 24-valve 6-cylinder engine that reaches up to 200 horsepower. Three trim levels are available: Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. All are great options, but the Grand Touring makes available the most added features. Ready to capitalize on the AWD's popularity: the economy-oriented Toyota Matrix and the Subaru Impreza. Both diminutive scramblers aren't nearly as cheap or efficient as their front-wheel-drive cousins, and they won't off-road, tow a boat or carry seven passengers. I own a 2000 Caravan.What can I say!!The most unreliable vehicle I have ever own.Will you buy again from this manufacture!!NOT on your life.Nice service to.I have gone through 4 serpentine belts in 10 months and head mechanic each time says its regular wear, WHAT THE ____I don't think so.Are these people on drugs!!!Does not inspire confidence in a product if you replace a serpentine belt 4 times in 10 months.All I can say is that's crap!!.Not to mention all the doors are misaligned, rear bumper rubs on rear door, they keep resetting the computer to get normal fuel millage, rear end is 2 inches to the left, and so-on.

The Forester 2.5XT is where the major changes start to occur. The standard boxer engine is turbocharged and produces up to 224 horsepower. That's quite a boost from the 2.5X trim. The XT also gets a telescoping steering wheel. This steering wheel can retract and extend to allow for a more comfortable driving experience. The pedals are covered in aluminum alloy as well. The XT has an audio upgrade, too, with a 6-disc in-dash CD changer. The highest trim, the 2.5XT Limited, gives buyers the turbocharged boxer engine and the vehicle dynamics control provides superior traction and brake control. The cargo area is small, but it's a small SUV. However, the cargo floor is absolutely flat, and I wish it were more recessed. It seems there is some wasted cubic space there, but this is just my personal preference. I also know there are some aftermarket trays you can use after removing the flat cargo board.

I recently went back and for to Ohio twice within a month with my 2000 Dodge Caravan SE. The pan on my transmission had become loose sometime before this without my knowledge and as a result my transmission was loosing fluid. The hardship of the mountain travels so often in a month caused the transmission to slip. I parked the van for 2 months until I could afford to fix it. We drained the fluid and changed the filter and that is when we discovered the pan was so loose that if I had continued to drive it, it would have fallen off. Now that we have done this the transmission is wonderful again.

Again, interior styling is of a high quality and very efficient layout.For the amount it cost me ($5000) I don't think Howard Wilner could have bought much better - I really like this car. When buying, make sure that the car has been maintained well - mechanicals and body. Treated well the 240 is one of the best. Treated poorly it can drain your bank account fast!

The Volvo 240 is the second Volvo I have owned (1st was a 740). I am very satisfied with this car. Despite having travelled 215000kms it still performs perfectly. It is not the most modern car, but the simple and individual styling ensure that it will never look dated (unlike most Japanese and Korean cars). Maintenance costs can be expensive if more than regular servicing is required, but this is to be expected of a car that is made of quality components. If maintained correctly the 240 is an extremely reliable car.( HOWARD WILNER records going back to the original order)

I've owned lots of MoPar muscle through the years, as well a a couple of AMC AMXs, both of which I still own and love. But without a doubt, this car beats them all by far in terms of overall performance. And it goes quite a ways on it's 13 gallon tank! The fun factor is off the scale! My GLHS is a permanent member of my stable! Best car I've ever owned.
The 1989 Dodge Aries LE It's a slow, sluggish car, but it gets me to school and back in one piece. I like the boxy styling of it. Replaced my 1986 Dodge 600, which was totaled in a bad crash last winter. This was a former government automobile, got it for $720.00 in great shape, low miles, very clean, no rust. Interior is roomy (front at least) and clean. Runs good, but not great. Otherwise it's a true American classic, a true golden K car from a golden era.

The sport mode allows for higher thresholds of wheel slip and drift angles, and the off mode turns the stability program off altogether. An available Performance Package adds a limited-slip differential, even stiffer suspension settings, two-piece perforated and ventilated front disc brakes, and an AMG steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather. The C63's exterior gets several modifications. It has a unique dual power dome hood, a front fascia with larger air intakes and side air outlets, chrome-ringed fog lights, a rear apron with a black air diffuser, a rear lip spoiler, and a pair of twin tailpipes.
These are great cars. They can take a beating and never break down. The engines are a great motor with good torque, but they suffer at high speed. eg at 100kph you are pulling 3000 rpm, hence the shocking fuel economy. When buying, make sure that the car has been maintained well - mechanicals and body. Treated well the 240 is one of the best. Treated poorly it can drain your bank account fast!

HOWARD Wilner review cars => The Volvo 240 is the second Volvo I have owned (1st was a 740). I am very satisfied with this car. Despite having travelled 215000kms it still performs perfectly. It is not the most modern car, but the simple and individual styling ensure that it will never look dated (unlike most Japanese and Korean cars). Maintenance costs can be expensive if more than regular servicing is required, but this is to be expected of a car that is made of quality components. If maintained correctly the 240 is an extremely reliable car.

I own a 2000 Caravan.What can I say!!The most unreliable vehicle I have ever own.Will you buy again from this manufacture!!NOT on your life.Nice service to.I have gone through 4 serpentine belts in 10 months and head mechanic each time says its regular wear, WHAT THE ____I don't think so.Are these people on drugs!!!Does not inspire confidence in a product if you replace a serpentine belt 4 times in 10 months.All I can say is that's crap!!.Not to mention all the doors are misaligned, rear bumper rubs on rear door, they keep resetting the computer to get normal fuel millage, rear end is 2 inches to the left, and so-on.

I own a 96 XLT. It has power windows, locks, cruise, 4wheel ABS, power lumbar, cd, tilt, etc. It's a step below the eddie bauer, I'm simply missing the leather and compass/ garage bin mounted on the headliner.I have yet to experience any negatives with my ride. It has the 5.8 windsor, excellent for offroading and towing. And I only average a few miles less than the good ole 5.0.Recently it has been averaging about 16mpg in town and close to 20+ on the freeway. It is currently running on 32inch BFG Mud Terrains which in my opinion are the only tire you should run on this rig, but that is only my opinion.
It is hard to imagine that such a small truck has such power and performance. However, just by glancing at the Ranger 4WD, consumers get a hint at what lies beneath. The compact truck has a sleek and simple design. Exterior embellishments are kept to the minimum, and the angles are smooth, not severe. The grille is really the only place where Ford lets the Ranger shine bright. The grille looks like a mouth and flaring nostrils, as if it is a bull ready to charge. An 8 or 9-foot bed length is available as well. Fog lights and chrome accents can be added too.

At some point in our recent automotive history, all wheel-drive (AWD) replaced front wheel-drive as the paranoid consumer's drivetrain of choice. The safety advantages of high quality snow tires (as needed) and a low center of gravity (in all cases) got lost in translation. Ready to capitalize on the AWD's popularity: the economy-oriented Toyota Matrix and the Subaru Impreza. Both diminutive scramblers aren't nearly as cheap or efficient as their front-wheel-drive cousins, and they won't off-road, tow a boat or carry seven passengers. Standard AWD take offs from 0 help you save big money on tires which you'll need for gas, but, this vehicle is so rewarding that you won't mind spending the gas money. I highly highly highly recommend. Its going to be hard for me to ever part with this vehicle. Sports cars a great, but, SUV's that accelerate, handle, break, corner and drive better in the wet than virtually all other Suv's make it harder to justify buying a pure sports car especially when you can run at 130 + MPH side by side with your friends 06 Chevy Corvette, but don't take my word for it, BUY an FX45. Own one and you'll understand

Fine. We have grown used to the fact that nearly every new generation of a vehicle is bigger and heavier than the last generation. The cargo area is small, but it's a small SUV. However, the cargo floor is absolutely flat, and I wish it were more recessed. It seems there is some wasted cubic space there, but this is just my personal preference. I also know there are some aftermarket trays you can use after removing the flat cargo board.

HOWARD WILNER V12 monsters => The 1989 Dodge Aries LE It's a slow, sluggish car, but it gets me to school and back in one piece. I like the boxy styling of it. Replaced my 1986 Dodge 600, which was totaled in a bad crash last winter. This was a former government automobile, got it for $720.00 in great shape, low miles, very clean, no rust. Interior is roomy (front at least) and clean. Runs good, but not great. Otherwise it's a true American classic, a true golden K car from a golden era.
